Animating People: Philip
RevelationMedia is continuing to design settings and characters for our upcoming 3D-animated iBIBLE: Life of Christ. This week, learn more about the creation of the disciple Philip through a look at how our artists and animators use research to meticulously craft each element of the story. Each scene of iBIBLE is carefully researched and designed piece-by-piece to be as accurate and engaging as possible.
This first image shows the preliminary research and design for Philip’s clothing, including modifications to his robe in the middle of the image for his job as a fisherman. On the right, you can see detailed research down to the way that the tunic is wrapped around the belt.
After the animator or artist creates the initial designs, the concepts go through several rounds of edits for accuracy, look, and overall design. This next image shows one of the initial designs for Philip’s clothing in the animation software. Several edits concerning color and style are mentioned here for the animator to fix.
Lastly, in this image, you can see the final design for Philip’s hair, headpiece, clothing, and shoes with all edits and corrections. Note the changes in color and style from the initial design image above.
