Animating Places: The Pool of Siloam
RevelationMedia is continuing to design settings and characters for our upcoming 3D-animated iBIBLE: Life of Christ. This week, learn more about the creation of the Pool of Siloam through a look at how our artists and animators use research to meticulously craft each element of the story. Each scene of iBIBLE is carefully researched and designed piece-by-piece to be as accurate and engaging as possible.
This first image shows the research completed on the Pool of Siloam before going into the design phase. There are many factors at play in the designs, including what part of the city the pool is in, how high the walls and columns are, how deep the pool is, the number and size of the steps leading into the pool, and more. These research elements help the animators and artists to know exactly how to style the Pool of Siloam within its location in Jerusalem.
After the animator or artist creates the initial designs, the animation goes through several rounds of edits for accuracy and visual appeal. This next image shows the initial concept animation with specific notes for improvement.
Lastly, in this image, you can see one of the final animations with color for the water and surrounding building. The steps, building, and pool layout are also updated to the colors and styles that accurately reflect how they would have looked in Jesus’ time.
Thank you so much for supporting iBIBLE! We are currently in the process of building and animating iBIBLE Life of Christ, the next installment of the world’s very first animated presentation of God’s Divine Narrative. Prayerfully consider partnering with us so we can continue creating quality Christian content to distribute to the global missions community for free.
