Golgotha, "Place of the Skull"

The key locations for iBIBLE Life of Christ are now being designed and built using 3D software, and Golgotha, the hill outside of Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified, is among those significant places.

This first image shows Calvary hill from a distance from a pavilion outside of Jerusalem.

Next is an “on-the-ground” image from the perspective of someone walking up to Golgotha. As you can see, it wasn’t an easy climb, especially for someone bearing a cross. In two Gospel accounts, Simon of Cyrene helped Jesus carry the cross. (See Luke 23:26 and Mark 15:22).

Finally, here is a view of Golgotha and the three crosses from behind, with the walls of Jerusalem and the top of the temple forming the background. This is the city that He came to save when He was put on the cross to atone for the sins of mankind. (See John 19.)
