Storing Food for the Famine
The last couple of iBIBLE behind the scenes have dealt with Joseph’s brothers coming and going from Egypt. But why did they have to visit Egypt in the first place? It was due to the widespread famine in the land. Because God showed Joseph the famine was imminent and put him in a place of authority, only Egypt was prepared.
This week’s behind the scenes comes from iBIBLE Genesis episode 34 and is taken from Genesis 41.
This first image is a dream sequence from the prior episode. Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dream about the impending famine following seven years of abundance. All dream sequences and visions are composed in this unique style for iBIBLE episodes.
Secondly, here is a remarkable view of Joseph’s warehouse. Joseph stored an unbelievable amount of food to prepare for the famine. Imagine having to store enough food to feed an entire civilization for seven years! Scripture tells us that the provisions that Joseph amassed were “like the sands of the sea” (Genesis 41:49).
Finally, here is an image of Joseph’s brothers heading off to Egypt after the famine had finally commenced and people were going hungry. This initial journey started the saga of the brothers' multiple journeys to and from Egypt, Joseph accusing them of being spies, and finally the long-awaited revelation of Joseph’s identity and reunion with his family.
