The Return to Egypt
During the famine, Egypt overflowed with an abundance of food because of the prophetic wisdom of Joseph, who, by God's power, understood Pharaoh’s dreams about the impending famine. However, this meant that surrounding regions were struggling to survive, including the place where Jacob and his sons were living.
Today's behind-the-scenes email looks at another black and white prerelease episode of iBIBLE Genesis. These scenes are from episode 36 and are taken from Genesis 43.
In the first image we see Jacob conversing with his sons as he tells them to go back to Egypt to acquire more food. After their first visit, Joseph told the brothers to go back to their father and return with Benjamin, the youngest son. Only at the point of desperation did Jacob allow Benjamin to go with them on their journey to Egypt.
In the image below, Joseph leaves the room where his brothers are gathering for the noonday feast due to being so moved by seeing Benjamin, the youngest, there with them (Genesis 43:30).
Lastly, we have an image of “the feast,” in which Joseph provides a meal for his brother. Benjamin, the youngest, is given five times the amount of food (Gen. 43:34).
