Abram Looks Out Over the Promised Land: Winner of the iBIBLE Colored Art Contest
Last week, we invited you to participate in a vote for the best iBIBLE colored image that our art and animation team created this past month. The winner of this vote will receive a prize. It is a fun way to celebrate the stunning artwork that our Costa Rica team has been creating, and to thank them for their hard work.
It is our pleasure to announce the winner of last week’s vote and to introduce you to the artists who created it.
The winner, with 38% of the vote, is this beautiful image of Abram looking out over the Promised Land.
About the Winning Image
Lot and Abram had traveled together from Egypt into the Negeb, then as far as Bethel. But since Abram and Lot both had an abundance of livestock and possessions, along with herdsmen, they could no longer continue to travel together. Abram suggested that they part ways and allowed Lot to choose what land he wanted to settle in. Lot chose the Jordan Valley for himself, and Abram settled in the land of Canaan. It was there that the Lord spoke to Abram:
The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” —Genesis 13:14–16 [ESV]
You can see in the winning iBIBLE image the expanse of fertile land. The land before Abram is lush and green, flanked by mountains, and filled with trees. The smoke from Abram’s offering ascends into the sky—an offering to the Lord.
Meet the Artists
Two artists worked together to create the winning piece of art.
The line art was drawn by Diego. He is proud to work on iBIBLE, as well as many Christian films and animations since 2009. His passion is drawing, and he likes to cook and create music as well. He has a very supportive family who are pleased to see him drawing since that is what he loves to do!
The coloring of this image was done by Sergio. He has been working with the team in Costa Rica for the last six years and enjoys working on iBIBLE. He has learned a great deal working with this talented team. His favorite hobbies are drawing, watching anime, going to the movies, walking, playing video games, and constructing puzzles and models. He is the youngest of six siblings of a large, close-knit family.
