Animating People: Judean Soldiers
RevelationMedia is continuing to design settings and characters for our upcoming 3D-animated iBIBLE Life of Christ. The first three episodes will be released on Easter Sunday, April 20!
This week, learn more about the creation of Judean soldiers through a look at how our artists and animators use research about groups of people to meticulously craft each element of the story. Each scene of iBIBLE is carefully researched and designed piece-by-piece to be as accurate and engaging as possible.
This first image shows the preliminary research and design for the soldiers based on historical and Biblical elements. Each of these soldiers is designed together as a group, but each get their own individual outfit and characteristics, with standard armor and weapons added later to tie the group together. This type of detailed research is what goes into the planning and preparation of each location, person, and episode of iBIBLE Life of Christ.
After the animator or artist creates the initial designs, the concepts go through several rounds of edits for accuracy, look, and overall design. Here you can see the original design for an individual Judean soldier, with edits from the animation team leader.
Lastly, in this image, you can see the final design for the costume of one of the Judean soldiers with all of the edits completed from above. Standard armor and weapons are added later when the whole group of soldiers is designed and ready to go.
