Jesus in Swaddling Clothes
The RevelationMedia art team has started production on The Life of Christ, which will cover the story of Jesus’s earthly life and ministry! It will be developed alongside the Old Testament iBIBLE episodes. In this week’s behind-the-scenes, see shepherds respond to the news of Christ's coming and the newborn child wrapped in swaddling clothes in the manger.
This first scene depicts a band of shepherds right after they’ve witnessed Gabriel and the host of Heaven announcing that a baby was about to be born, and that he was to be called “Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).
Following this image, we have the classic manger scene with the shepherds looking on the newborn baby Jesus with great reverence and joy. Although it might seem insignificant to us, swaddling clothes were popularly used for lambs in Bethlehem and the surrounding area. The lambs were often swaddled before being sacrificed. The shepherds in particular would have recognized the swaddling clothes immediately.
This final shot shows Jesus from a closer angle as the shepherds rejoicingly worship Him. This in-production episode from The Life of Christ depicts how God works through humble means to reach His people.
