The Lamentation of Jacob

The RevelationMedia art team is in the process of finishing up iBIBLE Genesis! This week’s behind-the-scenes features episode 35, taken from Genesis chapter 42.

The first image depicts Jacob (Israel) distressed when his sons come back from Egypt without Simeon, who was kept there by Joseph. Joseph expected them to return to Egypt with Benjamin as a test. Jacob couldn’t bear the thought of losing another son.

Second, we see an image of Reuben trying to reason with his father after telling him that Joseph wanted them to return to Egypt with Benjamin, the youngest of the 12 sons.

Finally, here’s a shot of Jacob holding onto his son, Benjamin, lamenting over the possibility of losing three sons. He did not realize that he would see them all again, even Joseph, who he presumed was dead.
